In our extremely diverse society, many people struggle to accept those who are different, whether it's because we fear or are suspicious of those differences or are simply more comfortable with what we know. The June/July issue of School Nutrition, SNA's award-winning flagship publication, asks readers to reflect on how we react when confronted by these differences. We all can do more to embrace the delightful differences that make each of us unique. The articles in this issue celebrate and shed more light on multiple types of diversity. Also in this issue, Ruby Reader returns-find Ruby on 20 pages throughout the issue and you could win a prize!

As this issue went to press, school lunch was a particularly hot news topic. Dispatches From the Eye of the Storm cuts through the noise and answers some of the questions you might have about SNA's advocacy efforts, the response to them-and the role you can play in going forward.

SNA moves closer to the strategic realignment of its goals and resources, following extensive discernment and analysis in the development of a comprehensive new strategic plan. Falling Into Place outlines the plan's goals and objectives and identifies the next steps.

Dive into this issue's diversity theme with a collection of statistics, trivia, suggestions, reminders, quotes and short activities to engage you in awakening your diversity consciousness in Assorted Thoughts on Our Assorted Differences.
