After School Meal Programs

SNA is pleading for Congress to take immediate action to extend pandemic waivers for school meal programs, following news that the omnibus spending bill fails to include expected waiver extensions, which had widespread, bipartisan support.

Next week, schools across the country will recognize National School Breakfast Week (NSBW) with the “Take Off with School Breakfast” campaign

Nearly 700 school nutrition professionals will attend LAC and urge Congress to extend pandemic child nutrition waivers.

SNA praised USDA for recognizing tremendous challenges facing school meal programs in its release of transitional nutrition standards through SY 2023/24. SNA is urging Congress to provide additional support by authorizing child nutrition waiver extensions through SY 2022/23.
