Susan Maffe has served as the Director of Food and Nutrition Services for Meriden Public Schools since 2004. Before joining school nutrition, she worked for a food service management company serving colleges and universities and later held positions at a major hospital in Hartford, Connecticut, as Patient Services Manager, Operations Manager and Clinical Nutrition Director. Maffe also served as Assistant Director of Nutrition and Food Production for a Community Action Agency, overseeing Meals on Wheels, congregate meals for older adults and meals for Head Start programs through the Child and Adult Care Food Program.
Maffe holds a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Science in Management from Rensselaer at Hartford. She is a Registered Dietitian, holds the School Nutrition Specialist (SNS) credential and earned a Child and Adolescent Weight Management Certificate from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She also serves on the University of Connecticut’s Dietetics Advisory Board.
Maffe has served two terms as President of the School Nutrition Association of Connecticut and has chaired multiple committees. In 2015, she was recognized as the School Nutrition Association of Connecticut’s Director of the Year and the School Nutrition Association’s Northeast Regional Director of the Year.

Maffe oversees all food and nutrition services operations, including budget and financial management, staffing and labor relations.
