Stephanie Walker-Hynes, M.Ed, SNS

Stephanie Walker-Hynes is Director of Child Nutrition at Little Rock School District in Little Rock, Arkansas. She has a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from Memphis State University and a Master of Education from the University of Arkansas. Walker-Hynes is an experienced leader in the school nutrition field. In addition to serving on the SNA Board of Directors, she has served on the City of Little Rock Food Commission Board; the General Mills K12 Gold Star State Advisory Board; the ScratchWorks Policy Committee; the American Commodity Distribution Association Education and Public Policy Committees; and as the fundraiser chair for the Greater Little Rock Jack and Jill of American Foundation.

As Director of Child Nutrition, Walker-Hynes oversees all operations of the district’s child nutrition program, including financial transactions, information related to federal school meal programs, nutrition and education programs and contract services. She is a dedicated advocate for school nutrition programs and professionals, and her mission as a leader is to ensure school meal programs are serving students nutritious, high-quality meals and to elevate the school nutrition profession by advocating for increased salaries and professional recognition.

Walker-Hynes is an experienced leader and advocate in the school nutrition field. Her leadership style emphasizes collaboration, accountability and innovation in school meal service, and she prioritizes mentorship as a way to strengthen teams and elevate overall program performance. In her current position as Child Nutrition Director at Little Rock School District, she has successfully implemented initiatives that have improved meal participation, increased staff engagement, improved financial stability and aligned district goals with SNA’s mission of serving high-quality, nutrition meals for all students.
