Gay Anderson, SNS

Gay Anderson is Director of Child Nutrition for Sioux Falls School District in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She has a degree in Business Management from the University of Sioux Falls and has over 23 years of experience in the school nutrition field. Anderson has been dedicated to supporting school nutrition professionals since the start of her career, serving in multiple SNA leadership role, including SNA President for the 2018-20 term and now as SNF chair for a total of 10 years of SNA Board service.

In her current position as Director of Child Nutrition, Anderson manages child nutrition program operations for Sioux Falls School District, with over 200 employees, an operating budget of $18 million and a central kitchen serving 24 elementary schools and 11 middle/high schools with full-service kitchens.

What She Brings to the Role

Anderson brings over two decades of experience in school nutrition, including experience in both small districts serving 5,000 students and large districts serving more than 25,000 students. She is a dedicated leader who views change as an opportunity for growth rather than a challenge and instills that positive mindset in her team.
