SNA applauded the announcement today by U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack of the extension of key COVID-19 Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) and Seamless Summer Option (SSO) waivers through September 30, 2021.

This week, schools across the country will recognize National School Breakfast Week (NSBW) with the “Score Big with School Breakfast” campaign.

Next week, during SNA’s 49th Legislative Action Conference, more than 775 school meal program operators from across the country will urge Congress to support school meals for all students at no charge and provide financial relief to offset continued meal program losses.

SNF has launched a new professional development program that is free to all school nutrition professionals. LEAD to Succeed™ is made possible through a $2 million grant from USDA.

SNA is calling on Congress to permanently offer school meals to all students at no charge through the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs and to take additional steps to ensure the long-term sustainability of school meal programs.

SNA applauded Congress for passing a stimulus bill which includes critical funds to offset some of the losses school nutrition programs have incurred during the pandemic.
