As schools reopen following COVID-19 closures, districts will utilize different scenarios for feeding students. The Dining Guide for Meals in the Classroom is designed to help you easily communicate your district procedures for serving meals in the classroom (MIC) to key stakeholders within their school community. MIC could refer to breakfast, lunch, supper and/or snacks.

Dining Guide for Meals in the Classroom Stronger with School Meals

USDA Team Nutrition has released Stronger with School Meals materials to celebrate the school community and promote healthy foods in School Year 2021-2022. With the 2021-2022 school year set to begin, the U.S. Department of Education has developed a Return to School Roadmap, to support educators and school leaders, parents, families, and communities and lead students on a path to return to in-person learning this fall, where they are safe and supported. Resources, including a fact sheet, a guide, and a checklist are available for guidance on how to protect the health and safety of students as schools return to in-person learning.
