SNA CEO to Be Honored with FAME Award

 2018-11-06

NATIONAL HARBOR, MD – School Nutrition Association (SNA) CEO Patricia Montague, CAE, has been selected to receive the national 2019 FAME Silver Friend of Child Nutrition Award.

The annual FAME (Foodservice Achievement, Management, Excellence) Awards are considered among the most prestigious acknowledgements of success in the school nutrition industry, recognizing outstanding leaders in the field for achievement, innovation and service. The Silver Friend of Child Nutrition Award honors an advocate outside of a district’s school nutrition operation who shows exceptional support of the mission and goals of this profession.

Throughout Montague’s 25-year tenure, she has contributed to SNA’s success in numerous capacities. In her role as CEO since 2012, Montague has shepherded a period of significant growth as the Association has introduced new services and professional development programs, supporting member efforts to expand student access to nutritious, delicious meals that fuel academic success. Today, SNA’s membership is at its highest level in 15 years, conference registrations meet or exceed the five-year average, the Association maintains a healthy financial reserve and has achieved key advocacy goals.

The SNA Past-Presidents, who have served alongside her as CEO, spoke of Montague’s unwavering commitment in their nomination for the award. “Patti Montague is a champion of children, an advocate for School Nutrition personnel and a passionate promoter of the School Nutrition profession. Unlike other School Nutrition heroes, Patti’s impact may not be measured by the number of school meals served daily; instead it is measured by the momentum of an association’s 58,000 members to preserve, strengthen and sustain a national School Nutrition program that helps students achieve their best in school and in life.”

“What an honor to be recognized alongside such a prestigious group of trendsetters, dedicated to making a difference in children’s lives each day through healthy school meals,” said Montague. “It is a privilege to work for this Association and serve school nutrition professionals nationwide in their mission to support the health and well-being of future generations.”

Montague will receive the award during the FAME Awards 30th anniversary ceremony, occurring on Sunday, January 13, 2019, during the School Nutrition Industry Conference in Austin, Texas. For event tickets and more information, visit www.fameawards.net.
