The School Nutrition Association is searching for an editor for the Journal of Child Nutrition & Management (JCN&M), its twice-yearly online research journal focused on school/child nutrition programs. This position is a two-year, renewable commitment to begin in April 2023 and pays a $22,000 annual stipend.

Proposals must be submitted to SNA Chief Executive Officer Patricia Montague, FASAE, CAE, at pmontague@schoolnutrition.org by March 17.

Candidates must have a doctorate in nutrition, health services, foodservice management or a related field and at least five years of experience in school/child nutrition research with a significant portfolio in peer-reviewed journals. Candidates should also have excellent writing, communication and project management skills, as well as the ability to perform statistical analysis and evaluate manuscripts for research soundness, relevancy and publication priority.

This position works closely with SNA’s Nutrition and Research Committee, as well as the Association’s Marketing and Communications staff.

Position responsibilities include:

  • Editorial planning and development
  • Manuscript solicitation and review
  • Peer-reviewer recruitment and management
  • Editorial writing
  • Attending up to two annual meetings of the Nutrition & Research Committee and SNA’s Annual National Conference
