After 19 years of service, Cathy Schuchart, SNA’s Vice President of Government Affairs and Media Relations, announced her departure from the Association. Cathy has been a pivotal member of the SNA team, bringing more than 35 years of advocacy experience to the organization.
Throughout her tenure, Cathy has been instrumental in leading SNA’s advocacy efforts. Her extensive knowledge of legislation and regulations and unwavering commitment to school meal programs have ensured that millions of students received healthy meals. Cathy has worked tirelessly with SNA members, USDA, allied partners in education, hunger, and nutrition fields, as well as industry partners, to secure the necessary support and funding for our programs.
Cathy’s dedication and passion for our mission have not gone unnoticed. She has been a key lobbyist for SNA, advocating for the needs of our members and the students they serve and was named by Association TRENDS as a 2022 Leading Lobbyist. On behalf of the SNA Board of Directors and our 50,000 members, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Cathy for her outstanding contributions and wish her all the best in her future endeavors.
Cathy’s departure is effective February 28, 2025. As we continue to advocate on behalf of school nutrition programs and prepare for SNA’s Legislative Action Conference, we are confident in our highly talented Government Affairs and Media Relations (GAMR) team. Together with SNA staff, the GAMR team provides unwavering support to foster a spirit of collaboration and unity, working closely with SNA members, USDA, Congress, and allied organizations. SNA proudly maintains a strong, leading voice in school nutrition, advocating for the health and well-being of millions of students nationwide.
