Effective September 2021, SNA has implemented changes to the SNA Awards program to make them more accessible and inclusive for members as well as make easier to nominate colleagues. In addition, self-nominations are now allowed.

First, we have eliminated some of the previous requirements to give more members the opportunity to be considered for an award. We have removed the certificate requirement for the Employee of the Year (EOY) and Manager of the Year (MOY) Awards and removed requirements for a certificate or credential and service on state or national committee or board for the Director of the Year (DOY) Award. The DOY membership requirement has also been shortened to three years.

Applicants who have any of the qualifications noted above will still receive credit for those achievements in the scoring process.

Second, with our new software, applications have been streamlined and are now all digital. Individuals can also now collaborate on award applications. It’s the perfect time to team up with a colleague and nominate someone you both admire! Regional judging will now be done by an ad-hoc committee of volunteers. We are also in the process of developing new tools for state leaders to market and judge the state awards.

And finally, we have opened up the nomination period early!  There is no time like the present to recognize the hard work of our colleagues in the school nutrition profession who go above and beyond. Start today!
