Rewards Found Beyond the Comfort Zone

On my bedroom mirror, I have an inspirational quote that reminds me to “Do one thing that scares you every day.” (Often wrongly credited to Eleanor Roosevelt, the advice is actually part of a graduation speech given by Chicago Tribune columnist Mary Schmich.) In the last three years, from the time I accepted the nomination that leads to the position of SNA President to preparing for my installation at SNA’s 2024 Annual National Conference (ANC) in Boston, I have done more scary things every single day than I could have imagined just 10 years ago—and they’ve given me the greatest sense of accomplishment...
