March 25, 2013 – The School Nutrition Association (SNA) has submitted comments in response to the US Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) proposed regulations to establish nutrition standards for “competitive” foods and beverages.

March 21, 2013 – The School Nutrition Association (SNA) has endorsed H.R. 1303, the School Nutrition Flexibility Act, bipartisan legislation introduced yesterday by Representatives Steve Stivers (R-OH) and Marcia Fudge (D-OH). H.R. 1303 would permanently eliminate weekly maximums on grains and proteins served with school meals.

March 3, 2013 – Approximately 1,000 school nutrition professionals from across the nation have gathered in Washington, D.C. for School Nutrition Association’s (SNA) 41st annual Legislative Action Conference (LAC).

A new SNA report shows school foodservice professionals are finding creative ways to prepare and serve school meals to meet new nutrition standards, but anticipate financial challenges in the coming year.

March 5, 2012 – Over 900 school nutrition professionals gathered in Washington, D.C., for the School Nutrition Association’s Legislative Action Conference are discussing the challenges schools face when the number of children who “charge” their school meals results in substantial unpaid meal debt.

February 23, 2012 – Next month, over 900 school nutrition professionals from across the nation will gather in Washington DC to discuss new school meal nutrition standards and urge Congress to ease the financial burden on school meal programs working to meet these regulations.

The School Nutrition Association (SNA), representing 55,000 school nutrition professionals nationwide, welcomed today’s release of the US Department of Agriculture’s final regulations updating the meal pattern for school breakfast and lunch.
