SNA has released its 2026 Position Paper, outlining the Association’s advocacy priorities for the new year. SNA’s Public Policy and Legislation Committee drafted the Paper based on SNA member feedback and survey responses. The Paper urges Congress to:
- Increase investments in school meal programs to cover rising costs, expand scratch cooking, and provide students more fresh, local produce
- Protect and expand access to healthy school meals for all students
- Ensure updates to federal school nutrition standards are feasible for schools
The 2026 Position Paper was released alongside SNA’s SY 2025-26 School Nutrition Trends Report, which details current financial and operational needs for school meal programs. SNA members are encouraged to review the Paper and click on the “Learn more” links for detailed fact sheets on each ask. Talking points and other advocacy resources will be posted here.
What’s next: Please take two minutes to share the Paper with your elected officials today. Your legislators need to hear from you to ensure school meal programs remain a priority and are supported in the upcoming year.
