U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack addressed SNA’s Legislative Action Conference (#LAC24) attendees on March 4 and personally met with SNA’s Executive Committee. He was accompanied by numerous USDA officials who provided an update on child nutrition program regulations and participated in meetings during the conference.
Sec. Vilsack thanked attendees and school nutrition professionals nationwide for the significantly important work they do, noting that it’s not possible to educate a child who is hungry. He also announced the first four school district winners of Healthy Meals Incentives Recognition Awards.
In addition to providing a regulatory update, USDA officials discussed program tools and resources, guidance and grant opportunities. Click here to view slides from the USDA update.
