Based on a recent report from Food Research and Action Center, 47,766 additional schools have joined the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) in the past year, allowing more students to access free, nutritious meals.

The report further shows that half of all schools participating in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) are now enrolled in CEP, demonstrating its vital role in minimizing hunger and easing administrative burdens. Although, additional funding is needed to help more schools participate in the program. SNA’s 2025 Position Paper urges Congress to increase the CEP multiplier to enable more schools to participate.

While CEP has seen significant progress, new proposals threaten CEP access. Act now by contacting your legislator to #ProtectSchoolMeals and read more about the benefits of CEP in SNA’s fact sheet.
