You know you can always count on SNA for professional development and leadership opportunities—not to mention great tips and tricks for getting your students to make healthy eating choices, plus plenty of practical kitchen ideas or recipes.

And then there’s SNA’s mission of advocacy. It might be slightly less glamorous (and a little more stressful) than some of the other purposes our association serves, but it’s integral: If what’s happening in Washington, D.C., isn’t helping you put food on the lunch trays, it doesn’t matter how creative you get in encouraging kids to love vegetables. Your job is just going to be harder.

This is why SNA publishes its annual Position Paper, which lays out legislative priorities to guide SNA’s advocacy in the year ahead. In short, it’s our advocacy agenda, something we can refer to whether we’re at our Legislative Action Conference (LAC) or meeting with lawmakers.
