Director of Dining Services Nizam Saad, of Norwich Public Schools came up with the idea for the Discovery Kitchen Cook-off—a cooking competition among four teams of two middle school students to see who could create the best dish. Reminiscent of many of our favorite cooking competition TV shows, round one had each team cooking a dish that fit within a specific theme (a breakfast for the teams from Teachers Memorial Global Studies Magnet Middle School and an Italian theme for the teams from Kelly Steam Magnet Middle School).
