SNA and its allies have advocated for increased financial support for school meal programs at the federal level for years—but advocacy efforts don’t stop there. State-level advocacy is just as vital, and SNA’s state affiliate associations tirelessly pursue options to expand support for increased access to school meal programs by appealing to state legislators.
“A Stake in the State” highlights the advocacy efforts of five SNA state affiliates and reviews recent achievements in expanding access to school meals in California, Colorado, Maine, Maryland and Pennsylvania—all representing great steps toward the goal of providing healthy school meals to all students at no cost.
