Mark Oswalt serves as the Assistant Director of Nutrition Services for Mead School District in Washington, where he is responsible for menu planning, marketing, training, and kitchen supervision and support. His passion for food—learning about it, preparing it, and sharing it—drives his commitment to ensuring students receive the highest quality meals. His experience working across districts of varying sizes has provided him with broad expertise and practical knowledge that strengthens child nutrition programs and supports their long-term success. 

Oswalt earned both his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from Washington State University. He is an active member of the Washington Association of School Business Officers (WASBO) and the Washington State School Nutrition Association (WSNA), where he contributes to advancing professional standards and supporting the mission of school nutrition.

What Do You Bring to the Role: I love learning about food, making food, eating food and sharing food. My passion for food provides me with the motivation to ensure we are feeding our students the best meals. The experience I have gained working in a variety of district sizes has provided me with invaluable knowledge that helps me make a positive impact in our child nutrition programs.
