“I love the kids and how innovative we get to be. I tell people all the time that I have the honor of being in a position that kids get to naturally trust me because I feed them. That is not something to take lightly and I treasure that relationship with my students.”
Why School Nutrition?
I am very passionate about making sure our students are fed and have access to full, nutritious meals each day. With so much attention being placed on school meals right now, I see this as an important opportunity to help show case the care, skill and dedication that goes into the work we do and are passionate about. This scholarship is meaningful to me because it allows me to continue learning, growing and build confidence to better advocate for our school nutrition programs and the reason we are here, the students.

The Impact of This Scholarship
Receiving the SNF Conference Scholarship meant so much to me. It gave me the chance to connect with like-minded people who truly understand the heart behind the work we do. I left feeling empowered, supported, understood and more confident in my voice and my abilities. This conference added tools into my tool belt to keep learning, growing, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of my students, staff and community. It helped me gain perspective for the process as a whole and feel closer to my state teams. Through the speakers, panels, breakout sessions I gained not just knowledge but also confidence and inspiration.
