CEU Approval Program

SNA’s CEU Bundling Policy is Changing on January 1, 2022

Effective January 1, 2022, SNA is simplifying its Continuing Education Unit (CEU) bundling policy. To allow more flexibility, CEUs will no longer have to be a minimum of 1 hour in length to be accepted for credit for the SNA Certificate Program and SNS Credential renewal requirements. Because of this, members will no longer have to bundle shorter training sessions in the same subtopic code to reach 1-hour.

Due to this change, submitted training for CEU Approvals will no longer have to be a minimum of 1 hour in length to be approved. SNA encourages that training is at least 1 hour but will approve 15-minute training sessions that meet the requirements for the CEU Approval Program. Short training sessions in the same subtopic code will no longer have to be bundled to reach 1-hour. You are also not able to bundle short training sessions together to reach the 15-minute time minimum.

For the initial CEU requirements for the SNA Certificate Program (levels 2-4), certificate applicants are still required to meet the total CEU hour requirements for each Key Area and the General Electives but will not have to bundle short training sessions in the same subtopic to reach a 1-hour minimum to be accepted.

For SNA’s Certificate and SNS Credentialing CEU renewal requirements, there are no Key Area requirements. Individuals would only need to meet the total number of CEUs required for their specific renewal. (Hour requirements vary per SNA Certificate and SNS Credential)

Additional information on the new CEU bundling policy will be released shortly and posted on our Calculating CEUs web page. For questions or additional information, please feel free to contact SNA at  education@schoolnutrition.org.
