At a hearing before the House Subcommittee on Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education, SNA incoming Vice President, Dr. Lynn Harvey, RD, LDN, FAND, SNS, testified to the costs of complying with new regulations on school meals and snacks.

School nutrition professionals from across the country will discuss the impact of new nutrition standards on school meal programs as part of two congressional staff briefings SNA is hosting. 

During a hearing before the Senate Agriculture Committee, SNA member Cindy Jones testified on the need for greater funding and flexibility for schools to provide healthier choices to students in the cafeteria.

SNA President Julia Bauscher testified before the House Education and Workforce Committee to the value school meal programs provide students and the importance of meal program viability.
