New SNA Member Portal: Certificates & SNS

Applying for your SNA Certificate requires two key steps: selecting and purchasing the desired level and uploading the required documentation.

1. Selecting and Purchasing Your Certificate Level:
   Log in to the SNA Member Portal and click the “Certificate / SNS” link on the main menu on the left. Click the “New” button in the middle of the screen and then follow the guided instructions to select the certificate you need, confirm your personal information, check out, and pay. (Note: Your name on the certificate must match the name on your personal identification)
2. Uploading Documentation
   Once you have selected and purchased your certificate level, you will now see a space to upload documentation in the “Certificate / SNS” section on the SNA Member Portal. Select the certificate application you purchased in step one and click the “Upload” buttons to provide all the required documentation.

When your certificate application has been approved, you will receive an email notification. You can also check on the SNA Member Portal, where the status will change from “In Progress” to “Approved”, confirming that you officially received your SNA Certificate in School Nutrition. You will also receive a verification letter in the mail and get access to a downloadable certificate located on the “Certificate Renewal” application in the portal (more details on this below).

Once your SNA Certificate has been approved a “Certificate Renewal” application will appear directly above your original certificate application on the “Certificate / SNS” section of the portal. Here you can provide CEU/Training documentation and find a downloadable file of your official SNA Certificate. Note: you will not be able to pay your renewal fee until 3 months before your certificate expires.

The online certificate program and SNS exam application are accessible for 90 days before it expires.

Initially paper applications for the certificate program will still be an option, but they will be phased out over time. Paper SNS exam applications will only be available by request, and the processing time will be longer.

Yes, you will be able to pay all fees online, upload your audit documents and attest that you have met your annual training requirements.

If more information is required after your initial submission, you will see the status on your application change to “Needs Info”, as seen below. To provide additional information and documentation, click on the green link for the certificate application in progress, and you will see the additional required information highlighted in red with a “Needs Info” alert. You will also receive an email detailing what information is missing or requires clarification.
