Legislative Action Conference 2020

March 8-10, 2020
Marriott Marquis
Washington, D.C.

SNA’s annual 48th Legislative Action Conference (LAC) allows you to meet face-to-face with policymakers to increase their understanding and knowledge of the scope and complexity of school nutrition operations. At LAC 2020, we’ll join together in the nation’s capital to focus on the future of school nutrition in this critical election year.

The LAC conference program will dig deep into a variety of advocacy topics. You can look forward to hearing from Washington insiders, compelling keynote speakers and representatives from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. On Tuesday, March 10, you’ll have the opportunity to advocate for your programs directly with legislators in Congress during the annual “Charge to the Hill.”

Whether you are an experienced LAC veteran or if this will be your first time, join SNA in Washington, D.C., March 8-10, to get the tools you need to effectively communicate with your elected officials in the nation’s capital and back home. Advocating for K-12 school foodservice programs allows you to make a difference for the 30 million children that benefit from school nutrition programs each day. Stay connected to SchoolNutrition.org to learn more about the conference, invited speakers and information about registration and hotel accommodations.

In an ongoing effort to help its members develop professionally, SNA donates funds to SNF to award scholarships to help members attend SNA’s Legislative Action Conference (LAC). Six scholarships will be available for LAC 2020: Applications open on September 1 and close on October 31. Recipients of the scholarships will each receive $1,500 to cover registration, airfare, hotels, and meals. Each scholarship recipient must comply with his/her school district’s policy on out-of-district travel. Winners will be notified in November.
