Online Giving Continues to Grow 2016-10-27 Mark Your Calendar: The School Nutrition Foundation will celebrate Giving Tuesday on November 29, 2016. One of the features of Giving Tuesday is online giving. As Americans use the Internet to perform more and more daily tasks, online giving has expanded tremendously. Each year, the data illustrates that more people are making online contributions to the organizations about which they care. The size of online contributions tends to be greater than that of gifts made in traditional ways and people tend to continue their support online. One aspect of online giving is the trend to make monthly gifts. Monthly giving has two major advantages – for one, it is easy – you sign up once and the gift occurs monthly. Secondly, monthly giving makes it easier to make a larger gift than you can make at one time. For example, $10 per month is a gift of $120 per year and a gift of $25 monthly is $300. The School Nutrition Foundation (SNF) has established a recognition program, called the Sustainer’s Circle, for those who set up monthly, quarterly or annual gifts online. Members of the Sustainer’s Circle are making contributions of $10, $25, and $50 per month. To become a member of the Sustainer’s Circle, you can choose monthly, quarterly, or annually as the frequency for your gift when you make a gift online. When you make your online contribution on Giving Tuesday, November 29, 2016, consider becoming a member of the Sustainer’s Circle with a monthly, quarterly, or annual gift. Plan to donate to the School Nutrition Foundation on Giving Tuesday and consider a recurring gift.
