House Introduces Child Nutrition Reauthorization Bill 2016-04-21The House Committee on Education and the Workforce has officially introduced the Improving Child Nutrition and Education Act of 2016 (HR 5003), legislation to reauthorize the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act. Introduction of HR 5003 marks the next major step in the child nutrition reauthorization process. The House Committee on Education and the Workforce is likely to schedule a markup of the bill in soon. Once approved by the committee, the bill will need to be considered by the full House. The Senate reauthorization bill, approved by committee in January, awaits full Senate consideration. SNA will continue to keep members apprised of developments as the process moves forward.
