Waiver Extension: Ensure Kids Don’t Go Hungry 2022-03-07 Urgent action needed! To make sure schools and organizations continue to have the flexibility they need to feed kids, Congress must give USDA the authority to extend waivers in the Omnibus bill being finalized today. We are hearing concerning reports that waivers are at risk—our opportunity is closing in fast to have the waivers extended. You and your networks can still make a difference! We are in the final hours for Congress to take action to help schools and local organizations continue reaching kids with the food they need. Here are two things you can do TODAY: 1. Write to your Members of Congress and urge them to give USDA the ability to extend these critical child nutrition waivers. Click here to submit a pre-written, customizable email. 2. Spread the word on social media and encourage your networks to contact Congress, too! Use your member’s social media tag to catch their attention. Share the messages below on your social channels. #ChildNutrition waivers help schools feed kids in ways that work for their community. But without intervention, these waivers are going to expire.
