Celebrating Black History Month 2022-02-09This month, in honor of Black History Month, we’re exploring the influence that African and African American food culture has had on school meals. We’re looking to spotlight school nutrition programs that are weaving African and African American history, heritage, and culture into their cafeteria, whether through food served and/or programming/decor. How is your school cafeteria celebrating Black History Month? Is there a dish you serve at your school cafeteria, whether in celebration of Black History Month, or throughout the year, that reflects traditional cuisine? We would love to share your story and/or recipe (along with a photo if you have one) with the SNA community. While submissions are being accepted on a rolling basis, we encourage you to send in your content as soon as possible to be included in this month’s feature across our social media channels. We ask that text be no longer than 175 characters (if possible). Submissions can be sent to jsmith@schoolnutrition.org. Thank you for your help in advance as we spotlight the amazing people, their stories, and the recipes behind the school cafeteria line.
