Honor a Colleague with an SNA Member Award Nomination 2021-02-19 Association members are heroes every school day. SNA’s member and state awards programs are our annual opportunity to turn up that spotlight, recognizing the dedicated, innovative, creative leaders who make an impact on the lives of thousands of children, one school meal at a time. Nominations are now open for the 2021 SNA Member Awards, but they’re due soon: Monday, March 1, 2021. Simply being nominated for an SNA Award can be a feather in the cap for a school nutrition professional, particularly in the midst of this particularly hard school year. The 2020 Employee of the Year, Martha Pellegrino, MEd, RD, LDN, of Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School in Upton, Mass., reported being “honored and grateful” when she learned when she was nominated for the award, though it was certainly well-deserved. “I can honestly say that I have never met a person more committed to their profession than Martha,” wrote Director of Food Services Eric Carlson in his nomination of Pellegrino.
