Step into September with SNA’s Promotion Calendar 2020-09-09 Back to school is in full swing, and School Nutrition’s 2020-21 Promotion Calendar offers multiple fun ways to celebrate the month. September is National Hispanic Heritage month and it’s also National Yoga Month, which celebrates the health benefits of yoga (did you know there was a crow pose?) and exploring meditation practices. There’s also World Heart Day, highlighting the importance of living a heart healthy life, as well as International Talk Like a Pirate Day and National Dance Day. September is also the month of Rosh Hashanah, the celebration of the Jewish New Year – a very important holiday on the Jewish calendar. It marks the beginning of what are known as the High Holidays (or High Holy Days), a ten-day period that ends with Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. Rosh Hashanah feasts feature a plethora of customary dishes, including: honey cake, brisket, and tzimmes. Check out Rosh Hashanah recipes here.
