Industry Partners Team Up to Support SNF’s GoFundMe Initiative 2020-05-28 The School Nutrition Foundation (SNF) has been working diligently to raise funds for our school nutrition first responders. In March, SNF established the GoFundMe campaign Help Feed School Kids Now! As of mid-May, we have been able to award 13 grants to deserving school districts. In addition to the 13, we have six more grants on their way out the door. We are proud to support these hard-working school nutrition professionals by helping defray the costs associated with purchasing personal protection equipment, food packaging, mobile carts, cooler bags, staffing and anything else they might need during these challenging times. We are also proud to support our members, as well as non-members, across various regions of the United States. A special shout out to our ANC sponsors and contributors, who have allowed us to take their ANC funding and redirect it to our scholarship and grant opportunities. These companies include: AccuTemp Products, Cool School Café, CoFresco Foodservice, Hadley Farms, Nardone Borthers, SFSPac Food Safety and Sanitation Systems, and Super Bakery. In addition to the generosity of our ANC partners, more companies are supporting the Foundation during these challenging times. General Mills K-12 made a substantial donation of $30,000. “I have been very impressed with the resources that SNA is providing to both manufacturers and the K-12 industry during these unprecedented times,” wrote Rick Fellers, K-12 Channel Marketing Manager to SNA’s CEO Patti Montague. Other SNF supporters got creative in their fundraising. On May 23rd, “Chef Vee,” Vanessa Hayes, one of SNA’s board members, participated in Chef Jeff Henderson’s Quarantine Cook-Off, a competition on who could make the best scratch-cooking Sloppy Joes for a good cause. Together they raised over $400. We are excited to see this fund continue to grow.
