Industry Advisory Chair Thanks Members in New Video 2020-07-21 Thanking members for leading what is “arguably the largest emergency feeding system on the face of the Earth” during COVID-19, Sean Leer, SNA Industry Advisory Council Chair, spoke in a new video on how school nutrition professionals had to literally reshape their feeding systems and methods of delivery overnight while endeavoring to keep staff safe. Leer also praised the tremendous advocacy efforts of SNA that led to the needed flexibility on USDA waivers for school feeding operations during the pandemic and stated that he has never been “more proud” to be a part of this industry. In looking ahead to SY 2020-21, Leer stressed the importance of planning and preparing early for “the new normal” and encouraged operators to provide as much notice and information as possible to industry. Emphasizing transparent communication, he stressed that it is “really critical that we hear from you on what is happening specific to your operation.” SNA’s new Innovative Solutions Showcase, which begins on August 3 & 4, provides opportunities over the next several weeks to connect directly with industry representatives via Zoom in limited capacity sessions to learn what new products, equipment and technology are being offered for the coming year.
