Important Message for #LAC2020 Attendees 2020-03-19Out of an abundance of caution, SNA is informing LAC 2020 attendees that we received notice that a participant at the conference was diagnosed with COVID-19 late last week. While the individual was not suffering symptoms at the time of the conference, it is possible they were infectious while in attendance. At this time, SNA has not received any notifications of any other attendee or staff member similarly diagnosed. Due to privacy laws, we are unable to disclose any information about the individual. What is known, however, is that after the conference, the individual experienced symptoms starting on March 11 and received a positive diagnosis for COVID-19 later that week. Per guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), an individual is most contagious when they are the sickest. A new study calculates that the median incubation period for COVID-19 is just over five days and that 97.5% of people who develop symptoms will do so within 11.5 days of infection. For the most up-to-date information on the COVID-19 outbreak and advice for your specific location, please refer to the CDC, World Health Organization (WHO), and local county public health agencies.
