A Heart-Felt Thanks from SNA President Gay Anderson, SNS

2020-03-27

Even before school closures rippled throughout the country in mid-March in response to the novel coronavirus, school nutrition professionals saw the possibility for millions of students to go without school meals. They immediately mobilized and started planning.

Now with many school districts closed until late April or for the remainder of the academic year, school nutrition professionals have been working diligently to provide vital nutritious meals to out-of-school students. Through grab ‘n’ go options, mobile deliveries, backpack programs and other initiatives, students have been getting fed.

SNA President Gay Anderson, SNS, was blown away by the dedication of her colleagues and showed her appreciation through a new video"You are all my real heroes, and I am so proud of the work you are doing,” she said. Watch the video here.

SNA also extends deep-felt gratitude for everything our members are doing to ensure the health and safety of their communities and staff. Thank you for providing for America’s families and we are here to support you.
