2021 SNA Annual National Conference Will Be Virtual 2021-03-17Given the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and especially due to continued concerns for the health and safety of all members, industry partners, volunteer leaders, staff, and other stakeholders, SNA has announced its Annual National Conference (ANC) will be held virtually during the week of July 12, 2021. Over the last 12 months, SNA has relied on public health guidance, federal and state-by-state event restrictions and member surveys to gauge whether to move major meetings to a virtual format. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the state of Illinois has placed an order in effect limiting gatherings to no more than 50 people. While this order could be modified prior to expiration, McCormick Place has indicated their ability to re-open for large events is currently prohibited by the state regulation. This would make it unlikely they would allow an event of the size and scope of ANC to take place in early July. While we understand this is disappointing news – for SNA, our members and industry partners, and for our host city Chicago – we are now focusing all our efforts on ensuring the 2021 ANC delivers the best content and experiences. We will be launching our conference on a more robust platform to provide enhanced attendee engagement, exhibitor experience and networking opportunities. In a preview of what’s to come, we are excited to announce our two keynote speakers, Crystal Washington and Ben Nemtin, who will inspire us and set the tone for a truly immersive virtual experience. Registration for the first Virtual ANC will open in mid-April. Keep an eye on our website and emails, where we will share more details about the conference as the date nears. We thank you for your support and understanding and look forward to seeing you at our first Virtual ANC! Sincerely, Patricia Montague, CAE, FASAESNA Chief Executive Officer Reginald A.
