U.S. Agriculture Secretary Perdue to Address LAC Attendees

2019-02-19

On Monday, February 25, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue will address school nutrition professionals gathered in Washington, D.C. for SNA’s 47th annual  Legislative Action Conference (LAC). Sec. Perdue will speak during LAC’s Closing General Session.

Approximately 900 school nutrition professionals from across the country will participate in LAC to urge Congress to minimize regulatory burdens and bolster school meal programs for the nearly 30 million students served each day. Attendees will participate in a “Charge to the Hill” to discuss school nutrition issues and SNA’s 2019 Position Paper with their representatives.

LAC will also feature exciting  education sessions, a keynote by world-renowned presidential historian  Doris Kearns Goodwin, and a discussion by former Senators Tom Daschle (D-SD) and Trent Lott (R-MS) on the partisanship and polarization shaping Washington today.

Onsite LAC registration is still available. Media interested in covering the Secretary’s speech should contact  media@schoolnutrition.org. Follow the conversation at #LAC19.
