SNA Submits Comments on State Administrative Expense Funds 2019-05-31In May, SNA submitted a letter in response to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service’s (FNS) request for comment on changes to their approved information collection for reporting and recordkeeping related to State Administrative Expense (SAE) Funds. The agency removed the estimated burden related to Form FNS-74, the Federal-State Agreement, because the form is not signed annually. It also noted its plans to incorporate Form FNS-525, the State Administrative Expense Funds Reallocation Report, into the Food Program Reporting System (FPRS). SNA’s comments, drafted in consultation with the State Agency Advisory Council, expressed concerns about the design of FNS-525 and the data it collects. The letter noted that efforts should be made to reduce the burden and redundancies associated with the form prior to its incorporation into FPRS.
