Setting the Agenda: SNA Releases 2020 Research Agenda 2019-12-05SNA has published its 2020 Research Agenda, outlining five of the highest priority research topics for the school nutrition field going into 2020. The agenda identifies broad topics areas (as well as sub-topics and recommended research strategies within each area): Meal participation Unpaid meals Rural districts Mentorship & staff development Value & outcomes of school nutrition programs SNA encourages researchers in school nutrition to take on the projects identified in the agenda. While the topics identified in the research agenda may not be new to the field, each of them is of current importance and requires research to be better understood. The School Nutrition Foundation will be working to find companies and foundations to fund some of this important research. The research agenda is the result of a year of in-depth discussion by SNA’s Nutrition & Research Committee, chaired by Alicia Landry, PhD, RD, LDN, SNS, as well as input and approval from the SNA Board of Directors.
