New #ANC19 Education Session Planner Now Live!

2019-06-05

anc19-education In less than 6 weeks, thousands of school nutrition professionals will gather together to learn, network and share ideas at the school nutrition event of the year—SNA's 73rd Annual National Conference in St. Louis July 14-16.

With more than 120+ education sessions covering everything from the nuts and bolts to the hottest topics in school nutrition, SNA is excited to launch the ANC 2019 Education Session Planner, allowing attendees to search sessions by date, target audience and topic area.

Here are a few things to keep in mind when planning your education itinerary.

SNA's new 30-minute ideas@work sessions take place on Sunday morning and Monday afternoon. These popular fast-paced sessions focus on singular innovations and trace the path of a big idea from concept to implementation, identifying the steps to take along the way. Topics include coffee shops, aquaponics, food trucks, customizing school meals and more!

Don’t forget to attend your membership section meeting to network, discuss challenges and share solutions with peers from across the country! The topics include:

  • “Managing Emojis: Keep Your Emotions Under Control Even During the Most Difficult Encounters” for Employees and Managers,
  • “How to Wow (&Transform) Your Audience” for District Directors/Supervisors,
  • “Procurement: The Big Differences About the Biggest Districts” for Major City Directors/Supervisors,
  • “Best Practices and Research Posters: A Walking Tour” for College Educators and Students, and
  • “USDA Updates” for State Agency Representatives.

Pre-con-knife-skills There is still time to register for a Saturday pre-conference workshop—and we’ve got something for everyone, from 2-hour express sessions to a full day of training! Take advantage of a unique Community Activity centered around helping heal hunger in Missouri at nearby Operation Food Search’s distribution and nutrition education center. Or check out these pre-cons back by popular demand: “Knife and Cooking Skills Train the Trainer Lab” with Chef Brenda Thompson-Wattles and “Supervisory Skill Development for Managers.” Managers should also take a look at “Money Management.”
