Make Someone Famous with the FAME Awards!

Fame2The FAME Awards are currently seeking nominations for talented, passionate and innovative school nutrition leaders. (We each probably know many!) And now is the time to honor them for their hard work and dedication to the K-12 profession.

Now in its 31st year, the Foodservice Achievement Management Excellence (FAME) Awards program recognizes some of the best in the business. Each year, the award, which is sponsored by Basic American Foods, is presented to outstanding leaders for their achievements, innovations and service. This year, winners will be recognized at SNA’s School Nutrition Industry Conference (SNIC) in Indian Wells, Calif. on January 12, 2020.

Whether it be yourself, your manager, your director or your coworker, submit a nomination for this prestigious honor! This special award recognizes school nutrition leaders and innovators who have overcome challenges and provided insightful and innovative solutions to complex problems. Submissions are judged by an independent panel that includes last year’s winners and trade publication editors. But don’t dawdle: Nominations will be taken online until October 4, 2019.

Who is eligible? Any member of SNA who is also in good standing with the industry can be nominated! There are four categories to submit a nomination and they include:

Golden Star School Nutrition Awards

  • School Nutrition Director of the Year: A director, with more than 12 years’ experience, who demonstrates outstanding achievement in leadership, spirit/dedication, innovation, career awards, management/systems, humanitarianism/community involvement and bettering the lives of students.

Silver Star School Nutrition Awards

  • Leadership Award: A director, with less than 12 years’ experience, who demonstrates outstanding leadership, dedication, fiscal achievement and innovation in menuing and merchandising.
