Finishing a Season of Webinar Wednesdays with Breakfast in the Classroom! 2019-05-31The Breakfast Summit hosted by the School Nutrition Foundation in April was too good not to share with all of you. The summit led discussions on how Breakfast in Classroom (BIC) does more than put food in children’s stomachs, as it often improves the social-emotional climate of the school, reduces the stigma of underprivileged students receiving free meals (especially when universal free model of breakfast is implemented), and how BIC increases school attendance, and prepares students for learning. This webinar will bring you one of the highlights of the summit, the school nutrition staff from Houston County Schools, who will share what they have been able to accomplish with increased participation in Breakfast in the Classroom. Join us June 19, and learn more here Registration Open: Non-Universal& Universal Breakfast in the Classroom Data Driven Decisions and the Numbers Behind Breakfast in the Classroom2:00 pm ET on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 Recently, the School Nutrition Foundation and the Partners for Breakfast in the Classroom hosted a Breakfast Summit. Hear from Houston County, a school district in Georgia that has had success both with a universal free model of breakfast in the classroom as well as counting and claiming model in some schools in the district. A special focus on how the district utilizes data to inform decisions and tell the breakfast story. Spoiler alert: breakfast participation leads to less tardiness, better attendance, and positive behavior outcomes. Successful completion of the webinar and quiz is awarded 1 SNACEU, or 1 CPEU for RDNs/NDTRs.
