Candidates for At-Large Position Announced

SNA’s Leadership Development Committee met late last week via conference call to review potential candidates for the open At-Large Director position on the SNA Board of Directors. This position will become vacant when current At-Large Director Reginald Ross, SNS, is installed as President-Elect in July at SNA’s Annual National Conference (ANC) in St. Louis. The SNA Bylaws, as amended in 2018, stipulate that Board position vacancies be filled by appointment through a vote of SNA’s Delegate Assembly. Although this is not an official SNA election by the Association’s membership, the Leadership Development Committee is recommending two nominees for consideration by the Delegate Assembly.

After reviewing the biographical information for each candidate, as well as credentials, goals and letters of recommendation on candidate’s leadership experience and competencies, the Committee has selected two candidates, whose names were forwarded earlier this week to the Delegate Assembly for consideration and appointment.

SNA is pleased to announce the two candidates for the open At-Large Director position:
Chris Derico, SNS, Lewis County School District, West Virginia
Gretchen Wilson, SNS, Pitt County Schools, North Carolina

Members of the Delegate Assembly will be asked to make their decision based on the nominees’ credentials for the position and their goals for their prospective tenure. The Delegate Assembly vote will be conducted electronically, and the new At-Large Director appointment will be announced on Monday, June 3. Installation will take place at the 2019 ANC in St. Louis.
