2020 FAME Award Winners Announced 2019-11-08 Honoring school nutrition professionals who are outstanding leaders—and recognizing them for achievement, innovation and service—the winners of the 2020 FAME (Foodservice Achievement Management Excellence) Awards have been announced! The prestigious Golden School Foodservice Director of the Year Award goes to Mark Bordeau, SNS, senior director of Food Services at Broome-Tioga Board of Cooperative Educational Services in New York. The FAME awards recognizes outstanding achievements in leadership, spirit/dedication, innovation, community involvement and the bettering the lives of students across the country. An SNA member since 1998, Bordeau is the current president of the New York School Nutrition Association, and has served on various committees within SNA. He has also acted as state ambassador in the School Nutrition Foundation (SNF), SNA’s philanthropic sister organization. Additional 2020 FAME Award winners include: Silver Leadership Award: Aaron Wylie, Director of Child Nutrition, Eagle Mountain-Saginaw (Texas) Independent School District Silver Spirit Award: Shonia Hall, SNS, Associate Director School Nutrition Services, Oklahoma City Public Schools Silver Rising Star Award: Kathlyn Walter, SNS, School Nutrition Program Supervisor, Putnam County (Tenn.) Schools Now in its 31st year, the FAME Awards ceremony, sponsored by Basic American Foods, will be held in conjunction with SNA’s School Nutrition Industry Conference (SNIC) in Indian Wells, Calif., on January 12, 2020.
