SNA 2018 Election Investigation Update 2018-04-17SNA’s investigation into alleged impropriety in voting conduct during the 2018 election is underway. The investigation was approved by the Board of Directors in March and an investigation firm was hired. During the first phase of the investigation, extensive election data research was conducted by both the investigation firm and Election Services Corp., SNA’s election contractor. This phase of the investigation identified voting irregularities in a few additional states but again, the votes in question did not affect the results of the election for any of the successful candidates. In the next phase of the investigation, interviews will be conducted with SNA members, beginning in Ohio. Interviews will also be conducted in other states in order to gather data and assess how the current online voting process is working. The goal of the investigators is to develop recommendations for SNA which will help ensure the integrity of online voting procedures in future years. The Board of Directors will inform SNA members of the results of the investigation and recommendations for improvement of the election procedures when the investigation is completed, and a final report has been reviewed by the Board of Directors.
