Republican Study Committee Proposes School Meal Block Grant

The Republican Study Committee (RSC), a conservative caucus of 154 U.S. House Republicans, released their 2019 budget plan. The RSC “proposes to consolidate funding for child nutrition programs into a single block grant” and makes the claim that paid meal reimbursements are “out of line with what the goals of the program should be.” The plan also calls for the prohibition of funding for National School Lunch Program standards.
