New Editor Named for the Journal of Child Nutrition & Management 2018-03-09SNA is pleased to announce that Dr. Catherine Strohbehn has been appointed as the new editor of The Journal of Child Nutrition & Management. JCN&M is SNA’s open-source, peer-reviewed electronic research publication. Twice each year, JCN&M publishes research findings on a wide variety of topics related to the K-12 school foodservice segment, including nutrition, administration, operations, food production and service, food safety, marketing, and much more. As a longtime member of the Iowa State University faculty, Dr. Strohbehn taught both undergraduate- and graduate-level courses in the areas of foodservice management and human resources, and has co-authored more than 60 articles. She has also been active as an instructor of school nutrition professionals in programs jointly coordinated between Iowa State and the state agency. Her excellent credentials also include her previous service as a JCN&M peer reviewer and former SNA College Section Advisor. Dr. Strohbehn succeeds Dr. Carolyn Bednar, professor emeritus at Texas Woman’s University, who served as editor since 2013. “I am honored to continue the work of Dr. Carolyn Bednar and previous editors in disseminating research and best practices recommendations about child nutrition programs to readers of the Journal,” says Dr. Strohbehn. “The Journal of Child Nutrition & Management is well respected and the ‘go-to’ periodical for those wishing to make informed decisions to improve school nutrition programs.” The next issue of JC&NM is scheduled to be published in May 2018.
