SNF Has Plenty to Suit You 2018-10-24 Each year, SNA’s philanthropic sister organization, the School Nutrition Foundation (SNF), offers a variety of scholarship programs to benefit Association members. Last year, more than 100 of these helped members at all job levels pursue their education, training and professional development goals. Would you take advantage of an upcoming conference, a culinary course, a graduate program or other opportunity if you had some help to defray related costs? Take a look at the opportunities available: SNA Conference Scholarships Want to attend one of SNA’s lauded national meetings? Scholarships are available to help you attend January’s School Nutrition Industry Conference (SNIC) in Austin, Texas, and the Legislative Action Conference (LAC) in February in Washington, D.C. Both SNIC applications and LAC applications are currently available until October 31, 2018. Annual National Conference (ANC) scholarships are expected to be available in February 2019. Josephine Martin National Fellow Award Awards up to $3,000 to one selected fellow to attend and be recognized at SNA’s upcoming Legislative Action Conference. Applications are currently available until October 31, 2018. Education Scholarships These scholarships provide SNA members with funding for tuition and books for the following school year. The following scholarships are available: Professional Development Scholarship, Schwan’s Food Service Scholarship, Professional Growth Scholarship, Sandi Brooker Scholarship, and the Nancy Curry Scholarship. Applications for these scholarships are currently being accepted through a common application available until January 31, 2019. Winston Equipment Grant SNF administers a grant to help operators upgrade school kitchen equipment through generous gifts from a partnership equipment manufacturer Winston Industries. Grant applications, which includes a video submission, are currently being accepted until January 31, 2019. First-Timer Scholarships With the support of a gift from AccuTemp, SNF is offering 20 individual $500 scholarships for SNA members who have never attended ANC. First-Timer Scholarships are expected to be available in February 2019. Kathleen Stitt Award Awards $500 to one participant of the School Nutrition Research & Best Practices Showcase at ANC.
