Congratulations to the #NSBW18 School Breakfast Contest Winners! 2018-05-24Congratulations to the eight grand prize winners of the 2018 School Breakfast Week Contest, sponsored by SNA and Kellogg’s, who will each receive a complimentary registration to attend #ANC18 in Las Vegas, July 9-12! #NSBW18 Contest Enrty, Ashley Henderson This was the first year SNA partnered with NSBW sponsor Kellogg’s, to administer the contest, a popular component of National School Breakfast week, celebrated each year in early March. A panel of six judges, three on behalf of SNA and three on behalf of Kellogg’s, selected the eight winners from a record 124 contest entries. Our thanks to SNA judges Linda Eichenberger, SNS, District Food Service Coordinator; Dayle Hayes, MS, RD, President, Nutrition for the Future; and Cher Williams, President, CW Design Solutions. Entries were judged on two equally weighted criteria: (1) creativity and originality and (2) enthusiasm and encouragement for school breakfast participation. All entries consisted of both visual proof of performance, which included photos and/or video, and a 500-word description that together demonstrated how the contest entrant was helping to increase school breakfast participation. Two winners each were selected from four different categories based on district enrollments from under 7,000 to 100,000+ to ensure equal representation for school districts of all sizes in the contest. #NSBW18 contest entry, Andrea Wright The contest winners are: Todd Bedenbaugh, Director of Child Nutrition, Harbison West Elementary, SC Kurt Bodell, Director of Food Services, MSD of Martinsville, IN Ellen Eichenbaum, Food Services Nutritionist, Fairfax County Public Schools, VA Kirsten Hancock, RD/ Menu Planner, FWISD, TX Ashley Henderson, Food Service Manager, James Simons Montessori School, SC Sally Nicholson, Director Lexington County School District One, SC Jennifer Wheeler, Food Service Director, Calvary Elementary School, KY Andrea Wright, Coordinator, Nutrition Initiatives, Jefferson County Public Schools, KY Congratulations!
