Speaker Spotlight

Chef Brenda Thompson-Wattles, RDN
Child Nutrition Programs Consultant

Give us a sneak peek of what you have planned for ANC! Which sessions are you leading during the conference?
I am co-presenting a Pre-Conference Workshop called, “Knife and Cooking Skills Train-the-Trainer Lab,” along with other chefs from SNA’s Chefs Task Force. We will be illustrating both hands-on knife skills and culinary techniques, such as fundamental cuts for fruits and veggies.

People will be meeting up in St. Louis; whom are you most excited to meet?
I’m always excited to meet other school chefs. I also want to see innovative foodservice staff, USDA leaders and exhibitors.

One fun fact most people don’t know about you?
My mom was a lunch lady at my elementary school.
